Ouseph Varkey, an old dedicated farmer from Thekkemala, Kerala, passed away after a prolonged battle with COVID-19. Following weeks of isolation at MMT Hospital, Mundakayam, his passing was peaceful, yet it left a deep sorrow in the hearts of those who loved him. Though not deeply religious, Ouseph spent his final days anchored in faith and hope—faith in God and hope in the eternal promise of Jesus Christ, who proclaimed:

“I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.”

But what awaited Ouseph after his earthly life was beyond anything he had ever imagined.

His transition was swift—no earthly checkpoints, no sanitizers, or masked angels. Instead, a radian light guided him toward a realm of indescribable beauty.  The air shimmered with heavenly hymns, filling Ouseph with awe as he took in the splendor of the celestial world.

Then, something astounding happened.

Jesus Himself appeared before him, surrounded by familiar faces from Thekkemala. Among them stood an unexpected figure—Chandy, the notorious local rowdy and former drug dealer. Ouseph was stunned. How could Chandy be in Heaven, standing beside Jesus?

Doubt clouded his thoughts. Was this a dream? A lingering effect of his hospital treatments? He shut his eyes tightly, trying to make sense of it all.

Then, a gentle voice called out.

“Ouseph, welcome home.”

Opening his eyes, he saw Jesus smiling at him, holding a radiant crown whose brilliance defied imagination.

“There is hope for everyone who believes,” Jesus said, His voice overflowing with love and reassurance. “Your past does not define you, as long as your heart and intentions align with my teachings.”

Overcome with emotion, Ouseph fell to his knees. Tears streamed down his face as he worshiped, his heart brimming with gratitude.

In that moment, he understood the boundless mercy of God—a love that sees beyond human flaws and welcomes all who believe and repent.
